The Extension requires access to your email account (via Google or Microsoft OAuth) to provide specific functionalities, such as:
Sending Emails: To allow you to compose and send emails directly from the Extension.
Viewing Email History: To display a history of emails sent to or from a specific student within the Extension's interface.
Important: When you grant the Extension permission to access your email, this access is solely used for the functionalities described above. Your email content, recipient information, and email history are:
Processed Locally: All operations involving your email data happen within your browser.
Never Stored Externally: We do not store your email data on any external servers.
Never Shared: Your email data is not shared with third parties or collected by the Extension developers.
The Extension interacts with the SEVIS website to scrape student profile information and build reports. This data is:
Processed Locally: Scraped SEVIS data is processed within your browser to populate the Extension's UI and generate reports.
Stored Temporarily: Report data is stored temporarily in your browser's session storage for the duration of your browsing session or until explicitly cleared.
Never Stored Externally: We do not store any SEVIS data on external servers.
Never Shared: Your SEVIS data is not shared with third parties or collected by the Extension developers.
We explicitly state that the BMH Extension does NOT collect:
Your browsing history.
Your personal identity (unless voluntarily provided for OAuth authentication, which is handled by Google/Microsoft and not stored by us).
Any data from websites other than SEVIS (for scraping purposes) or your email provider (for email functionalities).
Usage statistics or analytics that could identify you.
Since all data is processed and stored locally, the security of your data is primarily dependent on the security of your browser and device. The Extension uses secure OAuth protocols for email access, meaning your credentials are never directly handled by the Extension but by Google or Microsoft.
